Designed specifically for those charities & VCSEs whose staff & volunteers regularly interact with adults at risk.

Developed in collaboration with independent safeguarding consultants RLB Safeguarding, charity law firm Bates Wells, and the Small Charities Coalition.
 

Practical Course Content - The 2 hour course covers the following topics:

• Overview - What safeguarding adults means, mental capacity, making safeguarding personal and the laws and guidance relating to adults at risk in each UK nation.

• The 5 R's of Safeguarding - How to Recognise the different types of harm that a child can suffer, how to Respond to concerns, how to Record and Report these concerns, and how these concerns will be Referred to the relevant authorities.

• Different Types of Harm - Covering the main types of harm that an adult at risk can suffer; physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, neglect, self-neglect, financial or material abuse, discriminatory abuse, modern slavery and organisational abuse. Also additional topics such as Prevent and forced marriage. Recognising the signs and who is most at risk.  

• Quizzes, Scenarios & Case Studies - Plenty of in-course quiz questions and scenarios to cement understanding.
